Billon Dollar Facelift For Sydney Harbour Entrance

Billon Dollar Facelift For Sydney Harbour Entrance

There are dramatic changes ahead for the Sydney Harbour, which has contained buildings since the 1970's and 1960's. Which will now be redeveloped into laneways, bars parks and restaurants, condos and niche office blocks.

The investment will total one billion dollars, within the city of Sydney and there are currently plans for projects totalling $9 billion dollars under way or before the city council as we speak.  The facelift will bring Australia's first skyscraper at 33 Alfred St. as well the 50 Bridge up to what the developers call 21st century standards.

It will stay the same height, at 45 levels, but will be thicker with 2000sq m floor plates. A new lobby and atrium will link 50 Bridge St and 33 Alfred St.  AMP Capital, which built 33 Alfred St 50 years ago, has worked with Sydney City Council and the state government to develop a new masterplan to transform the landmark.
